Clinician - Lansing

Ele’s Place Lansing is seeking a part time Clinician to facilitate groups in the Bereavement Program.
Principal Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a support group facilitator in an Adult group or Young Adult group, ensuring an emotionally and physically safe group environment which promotes trust and sharing among group participants.

  • Set up the group room prior to the start of the group, e.g. chairs, supplies, etc.

  • Greet group members as they arrive and distribute nametags.

  • Provide structure and direction to the group process, including beginning each group with an opening circle, and closing with an appropriate closing ritual.

  • Acknowledge & facilitate the observance of anniversaries and closings.

  • Distribute articles, information, surveys etc. as directed by program staff.

  • Record group attendance.

  • Maintain picture board or other display of family pictures; return pictures to group members when they close.

  • Debrief informally with other clinicians prior to the Debriefing meeting with staff and facilitators.

2. Attend Briefing and Debriefing meetings each night you are assigned.

  • Make note of new families joining the program, upcoming anniversaries or closings, etc.

  • In Debriefing, provide a brief review of group themes and any relevant concerns.

  • Talk with program staff privately if there are any significant concerns or sensitive information that is not appropriate to share with the whole group.

3. Complete Ele’s Place facilitator training.

4. Attend facilitator meetings and facilitator in-service meetings

5. Maintain professional standards and boundaries; abide by Ele’s Place policies and procedures.

A Master's Degree in a mental health related field and a minimum of LLMSWLLPC, or LLMFC certification is required. Ideal candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, adult and child group experience, knowledge of grief issues and community resources required. Managing Director- Grand Rapids

Ele's Place Grand Rapids is seeking a full time Managing Director for the successful operation of the Grand Rapids branch.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Cultivate donor relationships with major gift prospects; solicit gifts and pledges from individuals, businesses and foundations; and steward relationships with major donors.

2. Build and maintain excellent personal and organizational reputations in the community. Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for Ele's Place in the West Michigan area. 

3. Inspire and work effectively with Community Board members, engaging them in community networking, outreach and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications for the Managing Director:

  • At least three to five years' experience in a nonprofit fundraising position, particularly major gift development.
  • Superior writing and public speaking skills.
  •  Experience in a leadership role.
  •  Experience working with and inspiring a Board of Directors and other community volunteers.

Family Services & Volunteer Coordinator - Flint

Ele's Place Flint is seeking a part time (20 hrs/wk) Family Services & Volunteer Coordinator to coordinate the recruitment, training, assignment and supervision of programming volunteers. 

Priniciple Responsibilities: 

1. Oversees the recruitment of program volunteers for Ele's Place in Flint, and responds to inquiries from other potential volunteers. Ensures volunteer packets are sent to interested candidates, and information in these packets are kept up-to-date. Coordinates the pre- and post-trainng interview process for prospective facilitators, and conducts interviews.

2. Plans and coordinates all aspects of facilitator training program and leads portions of the training. Identifies additional training needs for facilitators and group leaders; coordinates the development and implementation of trainings, such as in-service workshops. Trains program helpers as needed. 

3. Coordinates assignment of facilitators and other program volunteers (program helpers, substitute facilitators, clinicians).

4. Assists with overseeing support groups sessions as assigned:

  • Provides guidance/support/feedback to facilitators and volunteers; shares information about procedures, etc. with facilitators; and ensures all set-up/clean-up work is completed.
  • May assist with providing information about new families, family updates, and other announcements to facilitators; and addresses family concerns or issues.

5. Conducts family intakes and orientations as assigned; provides follow-up and referral as needed.

6. Maintains family records, including records of applications sent and received, and ensures that family information on database system is correct and up-to-date.

7. Responds to inquiries from families and others seeking information, guidance and/or referral.

8. Ensures that volunteer records (database and files) are maintained accurately, including records of volunteer packets sent, applications received, and volunteer assignments.

9. Assists with one or more of the following specific responsibilities, as assigned:

  • Plans for and coordinates activity room projects
  • Makes presentations to community groups, teachers, physicians, etc. about Ele's Place and children's grief issues.
  • Keeps mental health therapist referral list up-to-date
  • Ensures community resources list is up-to-date
  • Coordinates other projects, as assigned

10. Other duties as assigned.

11. Adopts staff team philosophy and work habits.

A minimum of LLMSW, LLPC, or LLMFC certification is required. Ideal candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good computer skills. Adult and child group experience, knowledge of grief issues and community resources required. Previous experience working with volunteers is very helpful.
