Ele's Place Ann Arbor is OPEN IN-PERSON!

We are welcoming families into our Home for Healing Hearts, and are honored to serve grieving children, teens and their families in-person. The health and safety of our families, volunteers and staff remains our number one priority. Protocols remain in place to make sure visiting our building is safe and thoughtful.

If you have a grieving child or teen in your life, our Clinical Program Staff is available to help! Please call Ele’s Place Ann Arbor at 734.929.6640 or email annarborinfo@elesplace.org to learn more about our no-cost support programs.

Ele's Place Ann Arbor offers ongoing in-person peer support groups Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings for grieving children and teens ages 3-18, and their parents or guardians. Groups are offered at no cost to the families.

Age groups typically include Preschool/Kindergarten, Early Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle School and High School. Groups allow children to realize they are not alone in this process by connecting with individuals their age, and are led by trained volunteers with oversight from clinical staff.

Support groups for the child's/teen’s parent(s) or guardian(s) are also available in-person, and are facilitated by Licensed Clinicians. It’s important to be able to support adults in their grief, so they can be more present with their child’s/teen’s grief. Our support groups run during the school year and during the summer we offer family activity nights for all families who have completed the enrollment process.

Ele's Place Ann Arbor History

Ele's Place Ann Arbor is the only nonprofit in our community and the surrounding southeast Michigan area dedicated solely to helping children and teens work with and through grief. Unfortunately, the need for our services will never go away.

Ele’s Place Ann Arbor was established in 2007 by offering one night of weekly programming. In 2019, after opening the doors to our new dedicated healing center - A Home for Healing Hearts - we expanded our services to four nights, serving an average of 160 grieving children, teens, and their families each week. The need for our services is critical - in Washtenaw County alone, 4,500 children and teens could potentially benefit from the services of Ele’s Place.

Ele’s Place Ann Arbor serves grieving families from 10 Michigan counties, including: Genesee, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne. More than half of the families we serve are from Washtenaw County.

Holiday Schedule

We will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022 and Monday, July 4, 2022 in observance of the 4th of July holiday. If you are seeking grief support for children or teens, please call Ele’s Place Ann Arbor at 734-929-6640 and leave a message for our Clinical Program Staff; someone will get back to you the next business day. In the meantime, you can find additional information in the “Grief Resources” and “Grief Support” sections on our website at www.elesplace.org.
