Children's Grief Awareness Month Resources
Ele’s Place is proud to be a member of the National Alliance for Grieving Children and together we are committed to giving grief a voice. Throughout November – in observance of Children's Grief Awareness Month – we will highlight GriefTalk topics weekly on the Ele’s Place website AND branch social media platforms.
The GriefTalk initiative is aimed at encouraging and supporting honest conversations around the topics of death and grief, and are intended to guide a caregiver as they navigate these important conversations with their child or teen.
2020 has been a difficult year for so many. There is grief everywhere, and many of the supports that existed are not in place, or access to support is limited. Together, we can support bereaved children and teens by giving grief a voice and advocating for supportive conversations.
Click on the weekly GriefTalk conversation topics as they are published throughout November:
- Week 1: Talking to Children and Teens about Death and Dying
- Week 2: Talking to a Child or Teen to Let them know Someone has Died
- Week 3: Talking about End of Life Memorials and Rituals
- Week 4: Talking about Grieving as a Family
Join us throughout November to encourage everyone to get comfortable with their GriefTalk.
