Host a Fundraiser

Bring Your People Together for Ele’s Place

A group of friends, a workplace, or a family can make a meaningful difference for grieving children and teens. Fundraise online, gather in person, or combine both.

How It Works

Host a Fundraiser in Four Steps

1

Choose your format

Fundraise online, host a house party or plan another gathering with friends, family or coworkers.

2

Talk with Lisa

Lisa Nielsen, Chief Development Officer, will help you plan your event.

3

Invite your people

Use the invitation, reminder and thank-you messages in the toolkit we will provide you.

4

Collect gifts

Send everyone to the Ele’s Place giving page. Every gift keeps grief support free for families.

Your Online Fundraising Toolkit

  1. Choose Your Goal and Dates. Pick an amount and a short time period that feels achievable. Invite friends to join a shared $600+ day sponsorship, or choose another goal.
  2. Tell Your Story. Share why you want to be there for grieving children. If you honor someone, use the name and details you have permission to share.
  3. Invite People Personally. Start with five people. Send a personal email or text, then share with your wider circle.
  4. Use the Official Giving Page. Direct gifts to elesplace.org/childrens-grief-awareness-month. Ask Ele’s Place about identifying gifts for your group before you begin. This guide does not create a personal fundraising page or automatically track your group’s total.
  5. Share a Reminder and Say Thank You. Use only confirmed totals in progress updates. Thank people for giving, sharing, and being there.

Your Invitation

I’m bringing my friends and family together to support Ele’s Place. They provide peer grief support at no cost to children, teens, and their caregivers. This matters to me because [your reason]. My goal is [amount] by [date]. Will you join me? Give or learn more at https://www.elesplace.org/childrens-grief-awareness-month/ #bethere #elesplace

A Friendly Reminder

There’s still time to join me in being there for grieving children and families. Thank you to everyone who has supported or shared my fundraiser. Every gift helps sustain connection and support. https://www.elesplace.org/childrens-grief-awareness-month/ #bethere #elesplace

Your Thank-You

Thank you for being there with me. Your generosity and encouragement support the work of Ele’s Place and help more people understand children’s grief. I’m grateful you joined me.

Host a House Party

Invite a small group to your home or another welcoming space for conversation about Ele’s Place. Share why the mission matters, introduce the opportunity to give, and help guests find a meaningful next step.

  1. Contact Ele’s Place before setting the date to discuss your idea, materials, and whether a staff member can attend.
  2. Choose a simple format, guest list, and invitation.
  3. Share Ele’s Place’s work and invite guests to give through the official donation page.
  4. Thank your guests and follow up with the resources or introductions they requested.

Invite Us to Join You

We are happy to come to your workplace, club, place of worship, etc. to share more about Ele’s Place with your teams and friends.

Send us your idea, location, proposed date, contact information, and how gifts will be collected. Coordinate with Ele’s Place before using its name or logo in event promotion, making commitments on its behalf, or collecting donations.
